MC EFCU Awards Maryland Hispanic Achievement Scholarship to Montgomery College Student (PHOTOS)
The Montgomery County Employees Federal Credit Union (MC EFCU) honored two college students with the Maryland Hispanic Achievement Scholarships at this year’s County Executive’s Hispanice Gala.
Montgomery College student Jacqueline Medina and Community College of Baltimore County Mareine Mbengang were awarded the scholarships.
50 other scholarships were also presented at the gala this year to recent Maryland graduates and GED recipients planning to attend a Maryland college or university in 2017, who are also in need of financial help.
“We, at MC EFCU, are invested in our community and we know there is no better investment we can make in our future than that of supporting young people who are advancing their education,” Jorge Saenz, MC EFCU Director of Sales and Service, said. “We applaud County Executive Leggett for creating this wonderful event to celebrate educational excellence and to ensure that more students in our community will be able to pursue their college dreams. We are proud to support this important cause,” he said.
The annual County Executive Gala is an event that brings together elected officials, the business community, philanthropists, and the Hispanic community to support and promote post-secondary education opportunities for eligible students in Montgomery County. This is MC EFCU third year of supporting the scholarship program.
