Mayor Swears in New City Manager (Video)

With the City Council standing behind him, Gaithersburg Mayor Sidney Katz swore in Tony Tomasello as city manager at the Dec. 3 Council meeting at City Hall.

Since the city announced his appointment last week, Tomasello said he has received over 100 messages of support from residents and city staff providing him with what he described as a “tremendous boost of confidence.”

Tomasello said it is an exciting time be a city manager in Gaithersburg, noting the Council works together well, that the community is engaged and the city staff is dedicated.

“I know the expectations of this community are very high,” Tomasello said, noting he expects to meet those expectations while moving the city forward.
