UPDATED: Mayor of Chevy Chase Ask Residents to Assist With Snow Removal
UPDATE: January 25, 10 p.m. Chevy Chase officials released an update on winter weather activities.
The Town’s snow removal operation continues and crews will operate continuously until the streets and town sidewalks are clear. Household trash will not be collected on Tuesday and a later update about Wednesday collection will be posted on Tuesday. Officials also say that compost will not be collected on Tuesday, January 26 due to the weather. Compost will be collected on Thursday, January 28.
The Town office will be closed and staff will continue to monitor voicemail and e-mail remotely.

Town of Chevy Chase Mayor Al Lang is urging residents to help with snow cleanup after the storm.
“While shoveling the sidewalks is slow going, the amount of snow puts the storm in the top five of all time, sidewalk clearing is proceeding and will continue until they are cleared. Given the slow pace it would be helpful if able residents could clear the fire hydrants; the rule of thumb is to have three feet of clearance on all sides,” Lang said in a press release.

Household trash will not be collected on Monday and the town will update provide an update later today about trash collection on Tuesday.
