Although troopers across Maryland are currently dealing with no major traffic incidents, they continue to join State Highway Administration officials in urging commuters to delay travel until after the normal morning rush hour.

According to a news release, troopers from the Cumberland Barrack have responded to some minor crashes today. Troopers at the Frederick, College Park, Golden Ring, La Plata, Easton, and Salisbury barracks are reporting no major incidents. All barracks are reporting interstates are passable, but secondary and side roads are slick and often ice covered.

In addition to delaying commutes, motorists are reminded to reduce their speed once on the road. Speed limits are set for ideal road and weather conditions. Drivers should also increase their following distance while driving. Remember to clear all ice covered vehicle windows before departing, to ensure a clear field of vision while driving.

Before leaving, drivers can check current road conditions at www.MD511.org, or by calling 511.
