Maryland Ranks Third Worst State to Start a Business

In a new study conducted by WalletHub, analysts took a look at 2017’s best and worst states to start a business and Maryland ranks number 47, making it the third worst state to start a business.

WalletHub’s analysts compared the 50 states across 20 key indicators of startup success to determine the best states to launch and grow an enterprise. The three key dimension were business environment, access to resources and business costs.

According to the report, Maryland has the highest labor costs and most expensive office spaces.
