Maryland Lottery Jackpot Climbs to $425 Million
Forget superstition! Mega Millions players are hoping Friday the 13th is their lucky day as they line up to buy tickets for the Dec. 13 drawing for the second highest jackpot in the game’s history.
The Mega Millions jackpot rolled to $425 million on Friday. The multistate game is sold in 45 jurisdictions.
This jackpot, which began its roll on Oct. 4, is second only to the Mega Millions jackpot of $656 million won in March 2012. Maryland’s two Mega Millions jackpot wins in 2013 featured an Anne Arundel County man who claimed a $189 million jackpot in October and a Mt. Airy couple who won $26 million in February. Marylanders have scored 16 second-tier wins in 2013.
Sales of the $1 tickets will continue until 10:45 p.m. Friday.
Mega Millions drawings are televised on Tuesday and Friday evenings at 11:22 p.m. Players can view the winning numbers right here at www.mdlottery.com or get winning numbers sent to their smart phone.
