Maryland Lottery Jackpot at $636 Million
The Mega Millions jackpot for tonight’s drawing is $636 million, making it the second largest jackpot in American lottery history. The cash option prize is currently estimated at $341.2 million. The multistate game is sold in 45 jurisdictions.
This jackpot, which began its roll on Oct. 4, is second only to the Mega Millions jackpot of $656 million won in March 2012. Maryland’s two Mega Millions jackpot wins in 2013 featured an Anne Arundel County man who claimed a $189 million jackpot in October and a Mt. Airy couple who won $26 million in February. Marylanders have scored 16 second-tier wins in 2013.
Strong sales are credited for the increase from the previous estimate of $586 million. The jackpot has been rolling since it was last hit in Maryland for $189 million on October 1.
Mega Millions drawings are televised on Tuesday and Friday evenings at 11:22 p.m. Players can view the winning numbers right here at www.mdlottery.com or get winning numbers sent to their smart phone.
