Maryland Department of Transportation Warns of Online Scam

The Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) have been notified of an online scam as recent as Tuesday. MDOT has warned individuals to ignore any text messages received from “Maryland-MDot Urgent” addressing “MDot customer” with a link.

If you have received a text from “Maryland-MDot Urgent” addressing “MDot customer” with a link, please ignore the text. It is SPAM and has been reported to MDOT’s IT Department. DO NOT click on the link and DELETE the message.

As MDOT continues to monitor the situation, they will continue to forewarn individuals.
