Maryland Comptroller Promotes Tax-Free Week in Takoma Park (VIDEO)

Maryland Comptroller Peter Franchot is promoting Shop Maryland Tax-Free Week, which takes place from Aug. 14 – 20.

During Tax-Free Week, qualifying clothing and footwear priced less than $100 or less, per item, will be exempt from Maryland’s six percent sales tax.

On Thursday, Franchot visited Amano, a woman’s apparel store in Takoma Park, to promote the event which takes place when many are shopping for back-to-school clothes and shoes.
