Maryland and Montgomery County COVID-19 Cases Continue to Climb

Montgomery County COVID-19 Statistics

As of Tuesday morning, the Maryland Department of Health reports 5,541 cases of COVID-19 in Montgomery County, which is an increase of 157 cases from the 5,384 reported Monday.

The health department reports that 292 county residents have died form COVID-19 in Montgomery County. This is an increase of 18 deaths since Monday. The number of probable deaths is 28.

Maryland COVID-19 Statistics

As of Tuesday morning, there were 27,117 confirmed cases throughout the state. That is an increase of 709 cases in the last 24 hours. There were 1,290 deaths, an increase of 74.

In Maryland, 5,337 people have been hospitalized since the outbreak of COVID-19. On Tuesday, 1,693 Marylanders were hospitalized with COVID-19, which is 44 greater than Monday. Of the currently hospitalized patients, 573 are in an Intensive Care Unit.

A total of 9,424 cases and 521 deaths involve the state’s African American community. That is 18 additional deaths since Monday.
