Montgomery County Recreation Announces Silver Spring Summer Concert Series Lineup

Montgomery County Recreation announces this year’s lineup for the 2014 Silver Spring Summer Concert Series presented by Discovery Communications and Live Nation. The popular series of free, outdoor concerts, expanded this year to eight weeks, features a wide range of entertaining musicians for the whole family to enjoy. The concerts will be held on Thursday evenings, June 26 – August 14, from 7 to 9 p.m., on Veterans Plaza at the Silver Spring Civic Building, Ellsworth Dr. and Fenton St. Performances are canceled due to weather only if it is raining at 7 p.m.
A raffle, with prizes for children and adults, is held at each concert. Attendees may bring a picnic or enjoy food from one of the many nearby restaurants.
Following is a schedule of concerts:
June 26 – Bruce Ewan, The Red Harmonica King, featuring South African blues guitarist Willem Moller (Blues)
July 3 – Little Red and the Renegades (Zydeco)
July 10 – ROADDOG (R&B, Blues)
July 17 – Ocho de Bastos (Latin Rock)
July 24 – Moxie Blues Band (Blues)
July 31 – Second Wind (Rock & Roll Covers)
August 7 – Eddie Becker Band (Rock, Soul, R&B)
August 14 – Project Natale (Jazz)
