6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. Free/Gratis.  This is a youth program for ages 14-19. Youth will enjoy eight fun-filled sessions: how to be a leader, how to create a resume, strategies for success in life, college preparation, and the truth about drugs. March 4:  MoCo’s Got Talent Auditions at East County Community Recreation Center

MoCo’s Got Talent is a county wide talent competition for students to showcase their talents in the arts. March 5:  Polar Bear Family Swim Party at Germantown Indoor Swim Center

7:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.  $4 per person or $6 per person non-county resident. This program is for individuals with disabilities, their family, and friends. Everyone is invited to enjoy an evening of water slides, floating in the leisure pool, or relaxing in the spas. Parents and caregivers register for free, but must dress in swim attire to be on the deck or in the pool with your child or participant, No personal care provided. March 22:  Creating Your Diabetic Plate at Holiday Park Senior Center

Free/Gratis.  Connecting Teens and Older Adults through Technology is a three-day session. Pre-register by March 5th.  Space is limited to six participants per timeslot. We will be offering one-on-one instruction for two curriculums:

Learn the Basics for Beginners

10:00 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. & 11:00 a.m. – 11:45 a.m.  Are you new to computers? Perhaps you just want to know more about how computers work. This curriculum will cover the basic concepts of computers.

Ways to Communicate

1:00 p.m. – 1:45 p.m. & 2:00 p.m. – 2:45 p.m. Learn to communicate with your friends and family through technology. This curriculum will cover e-mail, Facebook, and Skype. Call 240.777.8085 for more information.

March 31:  Golden Award Ceremony at White Oak Senior Center

1:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.  Free/Gratis.  Let’s celebrate excellence of our members. Our entire team of staff and instructors will vote to select the nominees and winners for each of our classes. Some of the categories are: White Oak woman/man of the year, senior sneaker award, super woman/man, can’t keep a good man/woman down, best class attendance, most improved, inspirational award, and many more.
