Man, Woman Shot in White Oak

Two people were hospitalized after an early-morning shooting Tuesday in White Oak, Montgomery County police said in a statement.

About 1:10 a.m. Tuesday, Silver Spring District officers, and Fire and Rescue personnel responded to the parking lot at 11560 Lockwood Drive for the report of gunshots, police said.

Upon arrival, first responders found two victims suffering from gunshot wounds — a 31-year-old man was suffering from a gunshot wound to his left shoulder and a 28-year-old woman was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Officers began life-saving efforts. Both victims were taken to the hospital where they were stabilized. Their injuries are now described as nonlife-threatening, police said.

This remains an open investigation. Detectives continue to interview witnesses and canvass the neighborhood to gather information and obtain additional details, police said.
