Man Struck By Train in Wheaton Rescued
Metro Transit Police are reporting Montgomery County Fire & Rescue Services rescued a man from a trackbed in Wheaton.
The Metro Police tweeted, “Based on video review, an adult male intentionally placed himself on the tracks as the train was entering the station.”
Battalion Fire Chief Kelvin Thomas, the assistant public information officer for MCFRS, tweeted that the man was taken to a local hospital and is being treated for serious, but non-life-threatening, injuries.
Update Wheaton METRO: patient was removed and is being treated while en route to a local hospital. He is listed with serious but NLT injuries. METRO is investigating the cause. Trains are single-tracking in the area. FR is preparing to clear the scene @MCFRSNews @mcfrs @mcfrsPIO

Update: Units are confirming a victim under a train in the station. The extent of their injuries aren’t known at this time. No other injuries have been reported. FR is working with METRO to secure power and begin removing the person under the train. @mcfrspio5 @mcfrsPIO @mcfrs
