Man Struck and Killed by Amtrak Train in Rockville
A 39-year-old man was struck and killed by an Amtrak train in Rockville on Wednesday afternoon, according to Montgomery County authorities.
It happened shortly before 4:30 p.m. in the 5700 block of Bou Avenue.
Montgomery County police officers said the investigation indicates that the man was in the area of the tracks when, for reasons still under investigation, he was struck by a northbound Amtrak train. Police said the man died from his injuries at the scene. Police have not released the man’s name, pending next of kin notification.
