Man Knocked to the Ground then Robbed, Rockville Police Say

A man told Rockville city police he was struck from behind and robbed, according to the latest city police crime summary.

The man was walking down Baltimore Road and Charles Street when he was approached from behind by three other men. The incident occurred between 12:35 a.m. and 1 a.m. July 12, police said.

One of the men struck the complainant knocking him to the ground, police said. They then removed the complainant’s property and fled the scene. The men were last observed on Baltimore Road heading toward First Street. The perpetrators are described as:

  • 5 feet 8 inches, 170 pounds, medium build, medium skin tone and last seen wearing: a gray hooded sweatshirt;
  • 5 feet 8 inches, medium build, medium skin tone and last seen wearing: brown hooded sweatshirt; and
  • medium build, black dreadlocks/twists with medium skin tone.

On July 14 at 11:31 p.m., a man was walking along North Stonestreet and Frederick avenues, when he said he was approached by two other men, police said. The man said he was struck by the other men and his wallet was stolen.

Arrests

On July 10 between 11:10 p.m. and 11:40 p.m., a 29-year-old woman was arrested for second-degree assault, malicious destruction of property, trespassing and public intoxication after an incident that occurred near Edmonston and Burdette drives.

Incidents

400 block of Misty Knoll Drive, the complainant reported that someone removed a suitcase containing an iPad, an iWatch charger and a GPS, from an unlocked vehicle July 2 between 12 a.m. and 4 a.m. This incident was not reported to the police until July 11.

Rockville police are looking for two teenagers wearing all black clothing and black masks for entering a business at 100 block of Congressional Lane July 10 between 1 p.m. and 1:09 p.m. The teens implied they had a gun. They jumped over the counter and demanded prescription medication. After obtaining an unknown amount of medication, the suspects went over to the register and removed cash. The suspects then fled the store and were last seen getting into a vehicle.

200 block of Congressional Lane, the complainant reported that someone removed a camera, a Bluetooth charger and three movie vouchers from an unlocked vehicle between 9 p.m. July 10 and 7:30 a.m. July 11.

1100 block of Grandin Avenue, the complainant reported that someone removed cash, an iPad, a laptop, and a cell phone from an unlocked vehicle between 7 p.m. July 11 and 8 a.m. July 12.

300 block of Rutgers Street, the complainant reported that someone removed a dash camera from an unlocked vehicle between 5 p.m. July 12  and 8:10 a.m. July 13.

1500 block of Rockville Pike, the complainant reported that a man entered the business July 14 between 2:15 p.m. and 2:43 p.m. The man removed two electric shavers from a shelf and placed them in his backpack. The man left out the front door without paying for the items. The man was last observed getting onto a bicycle and riding northbound on Rockville Pike. He was described as 5 feet 8 inches tall, 250 pounds, medium build, bald head, medium brown skin and last seen wearing light green hat, white sneakers, black cargo shorts and green polo style shirt.

300 block of Martins Lane, the complainants reported that while they were playing basketball, someone removed two cells from an unattended backpack July 15 between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m.

500 block of Burgundy Drive, the complainant reported that someone removed headphones and a cell phone from an unlocked vehicle July 14 between 8 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.
