Maker of Swiss Rolls Issues Recall Due to Salmonella Concerns
Flower Foods, Inc has issued a voluntary recall on Swiss Rolls sold under the brand names Mrs. Freshley’s, Food Lion, Market Square, and Great Value, distributed nationwide, due to Salmonella concerns in the ingredient whey powder.
The ingredient recall was issued by a third-party manufacturer and supplier, according to a news release.
Salmonella is an organism that cause serious and fatal infections in children, the elderly, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy people infected with the it often experience fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain.
No illnesses linked to the recall have been reported, but health officials urge consumers to use be cognizant of symptoms and dispose the following items:
