Local, National Spotlight on MCPS Calendar Decision (VIDEO)

The Montgomery County Board of Education vote to remove references to religion on the school system calendar has thrust the county into the national media and locally caused some strong opinions about the decision.

As CNN and the New York Daily News among others covered the controversy over the decision to take off Christmas, Easter, Yom Kippur and Rosh Hashanah from the operational calendar, the Muslim community, whose request to list the holiday Eid al-Adha sparked the debate, struggles to deflect the backlash.
