The Literacy Council of Montgomery County held its 7th annual Scrabble Scramble on March 29 at the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel and Conference Center. Proceeds benefited the organization’s adult literacy programs.

The event drew its largest attendance to date- 250 guests- to the fundraiser.

Scrabble Scramble featured a silent auction and raffle items, dinner and drinks, and a modified game of Scrabble, during which four-player teams competed against each other to achieve the highest total score. First, second and third place winning tables won prizes.

Major sponsors included Shapiro and Brown, LLP; Linda Dreeben and Art Lerner; Gelman, Rosenberg & Freedman; Lenore England; Geraldine and Richard Fox; Shulman Rogers; Rivka Yerushalmi; Capital Digestive Care; EagleBank; Forever Fit; Il Pizzico; Pepco; Jacques Financial; and Physiotherapy Associates.

*Information on how much money was raised was not immediately available. More information on the Literacy Council of Montgomery County can be found at LCMC’s website.
