Licensed Restaurants Now Allowed to Sell and Deliver Alcohol To-Go

Councilmember Evan Glass announced Tuesday that Montgomery County’s Alcohol and Beverage Services will now allow licensed restaurants to sell cocktails in takeout cups with lids.

Restaurants will also be allowed to deliver beer, wine and cocktails, along with a meal, to addresses in Montgomery County, as long as they use their own staff.

Maryland state law prohibits the delivery of alcohol by a third party, according to Glass.

Councilmember Andrew Friedson released a statement on the guidelines for restaurants in regards to the new policy.
