Leggett Restores Three Limited Weekday and Saturday Ride On Routes

County Executive Ike Leggett announced that the county will reinstate services for most weekday and Saturday services to three Ride On routes that had been proposed for service cuts.

Weekday services for Route 42, Route 83 and Route 98 will run until 8 p.m. Saturday services will run from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.

This decision comes after Leggett received public feedback regarding the issue via written comments and two public forums held on September 17th and 24th in Rockville.

“Without these weekday and Saturday routes, many younger residents told us they would lack transportation to work, while many seniors expressed concern about getting to their doctor and buying groceries,” said Leggett. “I’m glad we were able to capture public input, restore limited routes and still achieve FY16 savings,” he said.

Meanwhile, Sunday services for the routes will be eliminated by January 16, 2016.
