Leggett Calls for Hogan to Release Funds for Education (VIDEO)

County Executive Ike Leggett was in Annapolis this week calling on Governor Larry Hogan to release $68 million of school funding in the state budget. The General Assembly passed a budget that restores the geographic cost of education index funding that grants certain counties additional monies to cope with the increasing numbers in school population. Montgomery County would receive $17 million. If the funds are not released by the governor, there might be 400 positions eliminated in Montgomery County Public Schools, according to school officials.
