Ledecky Wins Gold

Bethesda’s Katie Ledecky (15), the youngest athlete competing on the U.S.A.’s team in the Olympic games, wins the gold medal in the women’s 800 meter freestyle.

During her Aug. 3 race, a watch party with family, friends and teachers was held at Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart where the rising sophomore attends high school.

The school’s website now reads: “Katie Ledecky ’15 is Golden!!!”

Ledecky supporters are reportedly planning a homecoming celebration too.
