Ledecky Sets World Record in 1,500 Free (Video)
UPDATED
Bethesda’s Katie Ledecky (16), a rising junior at the Stone Ridge School, has set a world record in the 1,500 freestyle at the World Championships in Barcelona with a record time of 15:36.53 smashing the previous record by six seconds.
Just two days on July 28, Ledecky brought home gold winning the 400 free with a time of 3.59.82. That time was the second fastest in history.
In an interview on NBC, she attributed the 400 free win to a lot of training.
