Ledecky Breaks Her Own World Record, Adds To her Medal Count

Swimming phenom Katie Ledecky broke her own world record in the 400-meter freestyle event at the Pan Pacific Championship in Australia Aug. 23 and added to her gold medal count.Katie Ledecky at Germantown Indoor Swim Center

According to WTOP, the Bethesda native swam the race in 3:58.37, nearly half a second faster than her record. This was her fourth gold medal of the meet which included golds in the 200 and 800-meter freestyle events and the 4×200-meter relay.
