Last Day to Vote Early, Over 1,000 Cast Ballots Early in Silver Spring on Wednesday
Today is the last day to cast your ballot early in the Presidential Primary Election in Maryland.
There are ten early voting locations in Montgomery County, and the busiest center, by far, has been the Silver Spring Civic Building.
On Wednesday, 1,057 early voters cast their ballots early at the Silver Spring location.
Despite a new voting system, Board of Elections Spokesperson Marjorie Roher said there have been no major problems to report at any of the early voting locations. Although, she said some voters seem surprised by the paper ballot.
So how many people have voted early this week?
As of last night, 34,220 voters in Montgomery County have cast their ballots early. That compares to 18,855 in 2014, and 10,034 in 2012.
Remember, you can vote early until 8 p.m. tonight. If you are in line at 8 p.m., you will be able to cast your ballot.
The Primary Presidential Election is set for April 26. The polls are open that day from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
