Larry Hogan to Discuss State’s Heroin Epidemic

larry hoganMaryland Democratic gubernatorial candidate Larry Hogan is planning to discuss the state’s heroin epidemic on Monday at an afternoon news conference in Washington County, according to a statement released by his campaign.

“Maryland has been called the heroin capital of the world, and it’s not just urban areas that are suffering from this epidemic,” said Larry Hogan. “Everywhere I go across the state, from Western Maryland to the Eastern Shore, law enforcement and addiction treatment health professionals tell me heroin is the number-one issue in their county. The current administration has failed to come up with a comprehensive solution to battle this multifaceted issue. I am going to make it a top priority in the Hogan-Rutherford administration.”

According to the Hogan campaign, Assistant State’s Attorney and candidate for District 2B Bret Wilson as well as Senator Christopher Shank will be in attendance at the afternoon news conference, along with other leaders of the Hagerstown community.
