Bonchon Chicken, a South Korean-based international fried chicken restaurant, opened a location in Gaithersburg July 13.

The store operates more than 350 locations worldwide, including 100 stores across the United States. This will be the company’s fifth location in Maryland alone.

“We are excited that Bonchon continues to grow in popularity across MD and the U.S.,” said Flynn Dekker, CEO of Bonchon. “In Korean, Bonchon means ‘my hometown’ and how appropriate for us to share our hometown experience in the bustling and vibrant city of Gaithersburg.”

Bonchon Chicken was founded in South Korea in 2002 and opened its first U.S. location in 2006.

The new restaurant is located at 130 Market Street in Gaithersburg.
