Kentlands Home Dances to the Sounds of the Season (PHOTOS) (VIDEO)

If you need a little Christmas…you can find it in Kentlands.

This private home display in Gaithersburg has 18,600 lights timed to dance to music. It’s the work of Mike Draghici who built his first display in 2012.

For each 30 seconds of the synchronized show, Draghici says it takes up to 1.5 hours to program.

Each show runs about 20 minutes and starts at the top of the hour through Dec. 31. About 50 people each Friday, Saturday and Sunday night come to check out the display at 202 Little Quarry Road. If you want you can donate to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention via a small donation box in front of the houes after watching the show. Draghici said his son Brandon selected the nonprofit because he said no one should be sad especially at the holidays.

Draghici said he taught himself using a computer program how to make the lights flash to the music and had to master a sodering iron to do the electrical work. He said the work lit a spark inside him and he has even bigger and better plans for next year’s show.

Show dates and hours are: Sunday through Thursday nights from 8-9 p.m.; Friday, Saturday & Sunday nights from 7-9 p.m.; Christmas Day from  7 to 9 p.m.
