Kentlands Historic Designation (Video)
The Gaithersburg City Council and Planning Commission held a joint public hearing on Sept. 4 about the applications for historic designation of six buildings and two sites original to the circa 1900 Kentlands Old Farm/Tschiffely Kent Farm. Property owner Gil Price testified against the historic designation. Listen to his comments.
The city’s Historic District Commission reviewed the property in 2011 and authorized city staff to initiate historic designation applications for all eight of the following properites:
- Kentlands Mansion
- Brick Building/Woodshop
- Arts Barn
- Caretaker’s House
- Garden Shed
- Garage, Kentlands Carriage House
- Grotto (Pheasant House)/Crypt
- Springhouse Ruins
