Just So You Know: Saturday Happenings

Here are a number of things to do Saturday, Sept. 28, in Montgomery County neighborhoods.

Derwood Farmers Market Finale

The Derwood Farmers Market, located at 16501 Redland Road, finished the season with a free petting zoo and live music. Open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

 

Wags N’ Whiskers at Bethesda Row

Shop with your pet at Bethesda Row from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event features a range of pet services and accessories and onsite adoptions. Enjoy live music, strolling entertainment and children’s activities including face painting, balloon art, and more.

 

Rockville Police Department Open House

The Rockville City Police Department, and new Chief Victor Brito, welcome the community to an open house featuring vehicle and equipment displays, a K-9 demonstration, a moon bounce, face painting, a DJ, pumpkin decorating, food, information booths, a visit by McGruff the Crime Dog, and the opportunity to meet city police offers. Open house from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

 

Germantown Public Safety Open House

The Germantown Fire Department (Station 29), and the District 5 Police Station host their annual pen house at Station 29, located at 20001 Crystal Rock Drive from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tour the vehicles, meet your local first responders and fire celebrity, “Sparky,” watch a rescue demonstration, get some fire and safety tips, play games, jump in the moon bounce, and so much more. There is something for everyone! We’ll see you on September 29th, at 20001 Crystal Rock Drive in Germantown (right in front of the fire and police stations).

Meadowside Nature Center Celebration of Hispanic Heritage

The whole family can enjoy great food, music, crafts and games in the the Meadowside Park  from noon to 3 p.m.

Montgomery Hills Street Fest

Join the Friends of Forest Glen and Montgomery Hills for family fun, delicious food, and community time with neighbors from 3-7 p.m. along Columbia Boulevard between Seminary Road and 16th Street. The neighborhoods of Woodside Park, North Woodside, Woodside Forest, and Linden are joining together for a giant block party to enliven the Montgomery Hills retail and commercial area.
