Jim McGee (D) Supports/Opposes Privatization of Liquor Sales in Montgomery County
Jim McGee, Democratic candidate for Montgomery County Council in District 1, participated in the April 12, 2018 Candidates’ Forum hosted by Friends of White Flint. Amy Ginsburg moderated the forum. McGee responded to this question:
“Currently Montgomery County has a monopoly on alcohol sales. Do you believe that the sale of alcohol should be privatized or continue to be managed by the county government, and why? How does your decision affect the White Flint area?”
McGee responded to follow up this question:
“You made this great example of why the current system isn’t working. But you are still against privatization. Can you elaborate?”
The candidates participating in this forum included Bill Cook, Pete Fosselman, Andrew Friedson, Ana Sol Gutierrez, Jim McGee, Regina “Reggie” Oldak, and Meredith Wellington. Dalbin Osorio was unable to attend forum due to illness.
