Jets Flying Overhead for Capital Area Events
Takoma Park Police say the National Capital Region will have several times in the next eight days when fighter jets will be flying overhead.
According to a statement from Takoma Park police, the events have been coordinated in cooperation with the Federal Aviation Administration, U.S. Secret Service, U.S. Capitol Police, U.S. Park Police, Department of Defense, Pentagon Force Protection Agency, Transportation Security Administration and other capital region area agencies.
The events are:
- Saturday, at 3:30 p.m., five F-18 aircraft will be conducting a flyover of the U.S. Naval Academy Football Game.
- Saturday, at 5:38 p.m., four E-2C aircraft will conduct a flyover of Washington Nationals Park for Game 2 of the National League Divisional Series.
- Sunday, at 7:40 a.m., the U.S. Army Golden Knights will be conducting a planned parachute jump at the Pentagon in support of the Army 10-miler race.
- Sunday, at 7:40 a.m., four UH-60 aircraft will be conducting a flyover of the Pentagon for the Army 10-Miler Race after the parachute jump.
- Friday, Oct. 13, at 9:45 a.m., four A-10 aircraft will be conducting a flyover of Arlington National Cemetery.
