Jessica Theis Receives EPIC Award for Youth Content

Jessica Theis is a 9th grade student within Montgomery County Public Schools system. At just 15-years old, Theis is already working towards her goal in becoming a film director.  Through Montgomery Community Media’s training classes, she has become certified in Backpack Journalism, Studio Technician, Studio Directing, Non-Linear Editing, and Field Producing.

Theis was awarded the EPIC Award for Youth Content at the Fillmore on April 25 for her work at Montgomery Community Media that includes working as Assistant Director on a Telly Award-winning show titled, “Congratulations You’re In!” and for winning a Monty Award for her Backpack Journalism piece titled “Sublime Slime.”
