JC Penney and Starbucks at Lakeforest Mall to Close

Introducing casions would only compound the problems that plague Gaithersburg, Montgomery Village, and Germantown. Lakeforest Mall died 20 years ago. The Off Price Center struggles. As one successful merchant told me as he was relocating his business, the issues surrounding Lakeforest were intensified when the county built the transportation center at Lakeforest. The Montgomery County Council shoulders the bulk of the blame for the demise of the afoe mentioned areas. Montgomery County is a Nanny county and is no longer considered one of the best run, most desirable counties in the country in which to live.
Lakeforest is and has been for several years a troubled center that functioned better as a storage lot for auto dealerships.
It is long past time for it to go. I’ve heard a rumor that is the most positive use of the mall property . Not another high density development like the one proposed and approved by the county for the former MV golf course. Building houses on a swamp.
