It’s Back! Explorer Post 1921 & Explorer Club 995

I am excited to announce that MCM’s Media Explorer program is back for the fall and we have extended registration to October 10. This is such a great way to get your teen involved, creating and learning about new ways to express themselves using media. Explorer Programs give real hands-on multimedia production experience for the youth in our communities.

MCM’s Multimedia Explorer Program gives young people access to media production career fields, including backpack journalism, blogging, social media development, the use of smart phones in media and a variety of other topics. Students completing the program will be able to successfully create, edit, and present their works both on-line and on-air. Students will have an opportunity to participate in hands-on projects to give them a real feel for whether this career is the right one for them. They can earn SSL hours, too!
MCM Media Explorers will have an opportunity to network with professionals who work in these careers every day – they are using the latest technology, they are aware of emerging trends, they know what it takes to get into college for their specific career.

Program Costs: $150
Costs cover instruction components of video production training for 10 weeks. Students will learn how to use professional equipment including cameras and editing software, while creating a dynamic video that will be distributed on MCM’s web and broadcast platforms.
