Our New Mike Flag

Introducing: the new MCM mike flag.

Earlier this month, MCM rolled out its new mike flag for on-camera work in the field.

With a black background, the newly designed mike flag boasts the MCM orange and white logo and features a play button.

What else can I tell you about the flag?

Our uber talented post production coordinator, Diego Torres, designed it and our production director, Jon Sullivan, personally presented it to me earlier this month. I was so excited about the colorful design, I literally walked around the building showing off its new look  to anyone who would look.

There were quite a few “oohs and ahhs.”  We posted a photo on our Facebook and Twitter accounts where it was also liked.

Frank McCaffrey, one of our MCM bloggers, commented favorably on FB: “MCM has arrived!”

In case you are wondering, the mike flag’s first assignment out of the building was for a wrap-up report about the Snap the Silence on poverty challenge at the Silver Spring Civic Building on Feb. 8.

When logging the video, I noticed our videographer captured an extra long shot of the colorful mike flag (resting on the podium and ready to work) before he photographed anything else. His trained eye focusing in on what may be MCM’s newest personality.

Now, we want to know: are you a fan?
