Internet Safety Seminar

Cyber Bullying iStock_000020675487XSmallThe city of Gaithersburg is partnering with the Montgomery County Police Department, Faith Community Working Group, Montgomery County Executive’s Office, Church of Ascension Gaithersburg, and the International Cultural Center to provide an Internet Safety Seminar Oct. 29 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Watkins Mill High School Media Center, 10301 Apple Ridge Road. This seminar is open to parents and teens.

Speakers include Montgomery County Assistant District Attorney Stephen Chaikin, Montgomery County Police Department Chief Thomas Manger, Irfan Saeed from the Department of Homeland Security, city of Gaithersburg Youth Services Director Tim Smith, Church of Ascension Gaithersburg Reverend Randy Lord-Wilkinson, and International Cultural Center Founder Dr. Hedieh Mirahmadi. The panel will present on a variety of internet safety topics, including internet predators, cyber bullying, online extremism, and teenage use of social media.
