Human Trafficking in Montgomery County (Video)
Studio 501c3 looks at the terrible toll of human trafficking in our region, on episode #309, Not For Sale.
Human Trafficking – What It Is, Where It Is, Who Is Fighting It
Our guests are Stephanie Richard, from Coalition to Abolish Slavery and Trafficking; Tina Frundt, a survivor of sex trafficking and founder of Courtney’s House in Washington, DC, and Sergeant Kenneth Penrod, with the Montgomery County Police Department. They discuss the prevalence of human trafficking in our area, how young people are recruited and trapped into “the life”, and what their organizations are doing to combat this terrible industry and to help its victims.
We will also see video clips of Tina’s outreach efforts with actual trafficking victims, out on the street.
