How to Help Residents Affected by Silver Spring Apartment Complex Explosion (VIDEO)

Montgomery County is working with nonprofits to assist residents who have been displaced after the tragic explosion that happened at the Flower Branch apartment complex in Silver Spring.

In this MyMCMedia Extra video, Montgomery County Spokesperson Mary Anderson talks about how residents can help by donating to local nonprofit groups. Anderson said that approximately 90 people have been displaced.

Residents who are looking to contribute goods or funds can do so by donating to the following organizations.

The Montgomery County Housing Partnership (MHP). If donating online be sure to indicate “Long Branch Fire” in the comment box.

CASA is also accepting donations of toiletries, canned/boxed food, and clothing. Items can be dropped off at the CASA Welcome Center located at 734 University Blvd East.

A Wider Circle and Adventist Community Services of Greater Washington are also accepting cash donations.
