UPDATED Montgomery County firefighters battled a house fire in North Potomac on Friday afternoon at 12210 Turley Drive.

Fire and Rescue Spokesperson Pete Piringer said the residents were home at the time of the fire and safely evacuated. A firefighter was injured at the scene, Piringer said.

According to Piringer, damage is estimated at $225,000. He said the fire originated in the basement and spread throughout the house. A smoke alarm alerted a family of seven of the blaze.

So far, no word on what sparked the blaze but it has been ruled accidental.
