House Fire in Damascus Causes $300,000 in Damage (PHOTOS)

UPDATED on Jan. 11 Over 70 firefighters responded to the scene of a two-story house fire in Damascus in the 28400 block of Kemptown Road on Saturday afternoon.
Firefighters from Carroll and Frederick counties also assisted Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) at the scene on Jan. 10.
MCFRS Spokesperson Pete Piringer said there was heavy fire showing when firefighters first arrived. According to Piringer, firefighters moved a large propane tank away from the house. Piringer said a propane heater caused the fire. According to Piringer, the fire caused an estimated $300,000 in damage. He said two adults and a dog were displaced by the blaze.
As for injuries, he said a firefighter and a civilian sustained non life threatening injuries. The firefighter slipped on ice at the scene, according to Piringer.
During the fire departments’ response, there were road closures in the area.
