Hometown Holidays Road Closures in Rockville

Residents of Rockville Town Center and surrounding areas should take note that several street closures will be in effect throughout Memorial Day weekend during the city’s Hometown Holidays music fest and Memorial Day ceremony and parade.

The full schedule of closures that will affect vehicles is available at www.rockvillemd.gov/hth on the Parking and Transportation page. During the closure times, all Rockville Town Center residents will be able to access their parking garages.

The area within Route 355/Hungerford Drive, Beall Avenue, North Washington Street and Route 28/East Jefferson Street will be affected by the closures.On Saturday, May 23, portions of the following streets will close at 4 a.m. for the remainder of the day (and on Sunday, May 24, the same portions will be closed all day):

• Middle Lane
• Monroe Street
• Courthouse Square
• Maryland Avenue
• Gibbs Street

The schedule for East Montgomery Avenue from Maryland Avenue to Monroe Street is:

• Friday, May 22: Closing at 4 a.m. for the remainder of the day.
• Saturday, May 23, and Sunday, May 24: Closed all day.

The schedule for Maryland Avenue from Middle Lane to Beall Avenue is:

• Friday, May 22: Closing at 4 a.m. for the remainder of the day.
• Saturday, May 23, and Sunday, May 24: Closed all day.

On Monday, May 24, many of the same streets, as well as portions of North Washington Street, Martins Lane and Beall Avenue, will be closed until 1 or 2 p.m. due to the city’s Memorial Day ceremony and parade.
