Holiday Light Displays
Montgomery County residents may want to visit some area light displays during the holidays. Here’s a look at three local light displays:
The 17th Annual Winter Lights Festival is now open nightly. This driving tour through Seneca Creek State Park in Gaithersburg features more than 360 illuminated vignettes and 65 animated displays in a 3.5 mile drive through beautiful Seneca Creek State Park. Visit Winter Woods, Teddy Bear Land, Victorian Village, North Pole, Toyland, and Penguin Cove. All proceeds benefit local charities.

The Garden of Lights at Brookside Gardens is now open in Wheaton. Visitors will enjoy walking through the gardens with close to a million colorful lights. A miniature train display is available in the conservatory.
Please bring non-perishable foods to support Brookside Garden’s local charity drives. Donation boxes are located in the Visitors Center lobby.

The 35th Annual Festival of Lights at the D.C. Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is now open through Tuesday, January 1. The festival includes the walking light display, nightly musical performances in the indoor theater, indoor decorated Christmas trees, Creche display and a life-sized outdoor nativity. The festival is located at the Visitors’ Center of the Washington D.C. Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
The lights are illuminated each night at dusk. Each concert is presented twice nightly, 7 and 8 p.m., at the Visitors’ Center.
