Hiker Dies After Medical Emergency on Billy Goat Trail
A hiker who suffered a medical emergency likely caused by heat while on Billy Goat Trail in the area of Great Falls died after being airlifted to a local hospital on Saturday afternoon.
U.S. Park Police identified the hiker as 32-year-old Rachel Parkerson of Severn, Maryland. It was determined that the cause of death was accidental with an attributing factor of Hyperthermia according to a press release.

Piringer says they had to respond to a number of people suffering from heat exhaustion in that same area on Saturday as well…
