Hero Dogs Receives Proclamation From State Officials

Maryland Comptroller Peter Franchot presented a proclamation to staff at Hero Dogs for the organization’s commitment to Maryland veterans and first responders.

Hero Dogs is a local nonprofit that trains and places service dogs with veterans free of charge, according to a news release.

“Hero Dogs is very appreciative of the recognition from Mr. Franchot and the state of Maryland,” said Jennifer Lund, founder and program director of Hero Dogs. “We believe we have an obligation to try to restore some of the former independence and ability of those individuals who have sacrificed so much for the good of others and to protect our community.”
