Hero Dogs in Gaithersburg to be Recognized by State Officials

Maryland Comptroller Peter Franchot is expected to travel to Gaithersburg Thursday to present a proclamation to Hero Dogs.

Hero Dogs is a nonprofit that raises, trains, and places service dogs with military veterans for free with lifetime support. With more than 100 volunteers, Hero Dog also trains dogs to help in group therapeutic environments at hospitals, hospice care centers, and residential facilities.

Franchot will present a proclamation to the local nonprofit at 10 a.m.
