Help Glen Echo Park Survive Shutdown

The complete text of the letter from the Executive Director about three ways you can help Glen Echo Park during the shutdown.

Dear Friends,

We are now in Day 15 of the federal government shutdown, which, as you know, has closed Glen Echo Park. Representatives of Montgomery County and our Congressional delegation are seeking answers to why Glen Echo Park must remain closed despite the fact that it is primarily a privately run operation. We are hopeful that the Park will be reopen soon, and we will continue to post updates on our website (www.glenechopark.org).

As the days pass, our financial losses are mounting. Fortunately, we have some great opportunities for you to help us offset these losses. We hope you will consider helping today!

Purchase a raffle ticket to support not only Glen Echo Park but also the Montgomery County Executive’s Ball, which provides funding for the arts throughout Montgomery County. Each $50 raffle ticket will enter you in a drawing to win a brand new 2013 Toyota Prius C, with $25 going to Glen Echo Park and $25 going to a general fund for all the arts in the County! Only 2,500 raffle tickets are available, so purchase your tickets today and be sure to type “In support of the Glen Echo Park Partnership” in the “Additional Information” box at the bottom in order for the Park to receive its portion.
