Heavy Rains Expected During Tuesday’s Commute
Public safety officials are urging residents to use caution when heading home during Tuesday’s evening commute as the region experiences heavy rains. The National Weather Services has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for the Washington D.C. and surrounding areas until 8:00 p.m.
Residents should expect hail the size of pennies, wind gusts up to 60 MPH, and at least a quarter-inch of rain.
Accuweather is reporting a Severe Thunderstorm Warning this afternoon for Montgomery County. 40-50 winds, hail, and 1/4 inch are expected. We are monitoring the situation as it progresses and will respond as needed.
