Cooking

Wine & Dine-Adults

Wines You’ve Never Heard Of

Ages 21 & Up: Ask any wine aficionado about matching a good Indian Curry with wine and they will just shake their head. Some people won’t believe it, but you really can find good wines to match with a good Indian Beef Vindaloo (served with basmati rice, of course). Or how about matching three good wines with spicy, barbecued chicken? Of course we’ll also have to do a seafood dish; in this case it will be a Shrimp and Andoui Sausage Gumbo. This dish is real Louisiana style with our own homemade roux and finished off with okra and file’, just like they make it in the bayou. Our wine selection will be from all kinds of places; no California, no Australia and no French. Remember, in these classes we cook, clean up, then taste the three foods with the three paired wines. Take home recipes and extensive wine notes provided. So schedule the baby sitter and plan your monthly date night. $25 food and wine fee due instructor at class time.

1 Sessions $55

Instructor: James Davis

Cooking With Red Wine Ages 21 & Up: We will offer all new recipes, never before offered in any of our classes. Recipes will include seafood in Red Curry with Sticky Rice; Pork Tenderloin with Spicy Red Wine-Blackberry Sauce; and of course a beef dish, Braised Short Ribs With Red Wine, Apricots, And Black Olives. We will have at least 9 of the best bets for wine to cook with along with the matching recipes. Remember, in these classes we cook, clean up, then taste the three foods, each with the three paired wines. Take home recipes and extensive wine notes provided. $25 food and wine fee due instructor at class time.
